It's all downhill from here.

One month has passed since I last wrote and quite a lot has happened.

Ramadan finished and we had a week's break so we decided to head off for a few days. We drove down to Al Ain and stayed in a really nice hotel up on the mountain top and then crossed the border into Oman.

It was a bit of a long drive to Muscat but the countryside was interesting. Quite different to all the sand of the UAE. We had two nights in Muscat, which is a really interesting city, but without all the high rise of Dubai. Then we headed back home and it was back to 'normal' again. Classes have returned to 50 mins, which has taken teachers and students a little bit of getting used to, but things are settling into a bit of routine now.

Jan is now the 'proud' owner of an i-Mac and she spent last weekend setting up her own website. She has so far made a few pages about the trip to Oman, revamped her hanji information and started making pages for the grandchildren. Although it is still very much a work in progress, she is happy for anyone to have a look and would welcome any comments. So take a break from reading what I've written and head over to Jan's website. I'll still be here when you get back.
So, what did you think? Pretty jazzy, eh? Sorry about the video though.

OK, so what was I saying? Oh, yes, I remember. I was going to tell you about what I've been doing. The local ex-pat community always puts on a pantomime for Christmas and this year they're doing a version of Dick Whittington. I thought I might try out for a part and now I'm playing the Captain of the Saucy Sally, the ship that takes Dick to the Emirates to make his fortune. It will be on just before Christmas and I'm sure there will be a few photos taken, (there might even be a video!) so keep an eye out for an update later in the year.

I hope everybody who reads this is well and don't forget to check back once in while.
