The weather is warming up.....

A month or so ago the weather was quite wintry and on a Thursday evening we headed off up into the Hajjar mountains behind Ras Al Khaimah for one of our 'end of the working week BBQ's', a fire to keep us warm from the chilly winds, good company and a glass or two of wine.

Well those evenings will soon fade into the past as the weather begins to warm up.

The evening temperatures are now creeping up towards 20C so gone is the need for jackets and warm fires but not the need for get togethers with friends.  They will take a different form.  Now it may be a musical evening at someones house where we sit and listen to some of the many talented people from our community perform or a visit to the home of one of our students to meet their family and appreciate their hospitality.

But, this Thursday is St Patrick's Day, so as there is no need to be Irish to celebrate the day we'll be heading to the Sailing Club for a good Irish stew with potatoes washed down with green vodka  as we sit outside listening to Irish jigs, watching the sail boats gently swaying with the ebb and flow of the tide and the water lapping at our feet.   Oh to be sure, to be sure...............

Our life as  expats in the UAE is not too bad folks ................
