It's Adelaide, it's cold but not too wet.
We arrived back in Adelaide one week ago after an uneventful flight from KL via Singapore. It was really nice to be met at the Airport by Sean, Jasmine & Tamika, Laura & Isaac and Jan. We went back to Sean's for a coffee and to catch up with Leanne. Of course we couldn't wait to see Angus too, who was asleep when we first arrived. Jan & I then went back to Jan & Brian's for a bit of a rest before heading back down to S & L's for dinner with Keith & Heather and some more time with J, T & A.
The next morning it was a hearty breakfast in the Central Market, then to pick up our hire car before heading out to help Laura and Randall move into their new house. Unfortunately the moving truck had a few problems getting up their driveway and in fact ended up bogged half way up the kerb! After an hour and a half and with the help of tow truck, unloading finally began but with everything having to be carried all the way down a very long drive. The big empty family room was soon full of stuff! In the evening we went to check out the British Hotel, where next week's wedding reception is to be held, and to sample their fine fare.
We've spent the last week catching up with some old friends, and even had breakfast with our friend Julia from the UAE who was in Adelaide for her Mum's 90th birthday party. Thursday was a really bright sunny day, and so we went for a nice drive to Victor Harbor with Jan & Brian.
On Friday night we had dinner with Alan & Margaret and Jan & Brian at the Vietnamese Palace. This morning we had breakfast with Heather & Neil and Jan is now roaming the Adelaide dress shops with Heather looking for something to wear to Laura & Randall's wedding next week.
This week we've been staying with Jan & Brian, but tomorrow we're going to Laura & Randall's place to stay with them for a while and to give Isaac the chance to get to know Jan & I before we look after him while the honeymooners are away. So you can see we've had a pretty busy week and I don't expect next week to be a lot different. But I'll tell you all about it after the wedding.
