Finland

Whilst we were in Stockholm our friend Marie (an Australian, married to a Swede) booked us a trip across to Helsinki in Finland. It meant we left Stockholm at 5pm and travelled overnight arriving in Helsinki the next morning. We had a glorious day and the ship berthed right in the city so the views of the gothic buildings coming in were lovely. We did a 2 hour tour of the city then headed for the flea market which was being held down near the wharf. Dad loved the hat but didn't think he'd get much use of it here!!!

Do you like my new camera. I'm pretty happy with it.

Dad also found an unusual looking phone box in his travels and then we ate lunch of kransky sausage and veggies from one of the tented stalls. The afternoon was spent exploring some shops and watching the people enjoy life in the outdoors on what was an unusually nice day considering they were coming out of their winter season. The ship left port about 6pm and we headed back to Stockholm overnight arriving unfortunately to very cool, wet weather.Posted by Picasa
