Whatever happened to April ???

Jan & I have just got back from a trip to East Malaysia to visit our PETs & ELCs. We had a few days in Kuching, then on to Miri and then a two day Zone Meeting in Kota Kinabalu. On the week end before the meeting we went up to the Mt Kinabalu national park for a bit of a rest before the main meeting. It was a pretty tiring week but well worthwhile. We had fun flying on some small planes and thought it pretty funny when we had to get weighed as well as our baggage. The trip home was pretty tiring too as the Air Asia plane was late leaving and so it was after 11PM before we made it back. If you would like some more details about the work side of it, please visit my CfBT Blog.

We were only back a couple of days when Alan & Margaret arrived to spend some time with us after having had a short break soaking up the sun in Langkawi. We always look forward to their visits when we can catch up on all the news, have a few drinks and share some meals together. Well we did plenty of all three! We went to dinner at SOULed OUT, caught up with Bob Hudson at the Luna Bar for pizza, had drinks and listened to some jazz at the Shangri-la, had tapas at La Bodega Bangsar Shopping Centre, mushrooms on toast at Ms Read and had some very nice Vietnamese at The Curve. In between times we went shopping with Alan & Margaret, Alan & Margaret went shopping on their own and we had lots of different lunches at lots of different places.

Last Thursday was a holiday for the coronation of our new king and so we headed up to Bukit Tinggi for the day. There were shops and eating places there too! And it was nice to get away from the city for a few hours. On the way back down we stopped to buy dinner, which was lemang & chicken rendang.

Friday came around all to soon and after a last stop at the DVD shop and a quick visit to our new office, it was time for Margaret to see if all the shopping would fit into the suit cases. Then we had a final dinner at Friendster, and they were off to catch the KLIA Express and head for home. Come back soon.

And if that hasn't whetted your appetite for a trip to Malaysia, I give up!
