August Update

I know, I know, what has happened to Ron I hear you saying! Well Ron's been pretty busy at work (and so has Jan) but that's really no excuse.

Thanks to 'The Coveney Family' in the UK for your posting and congratulations on the new job Trev. I didn't know you owned a tie but would love to see a photo of you in one! Also nice to hear from our friends, Robert & Joan in Shutford (near Banbury) who we were also lucky enough to visit. It seems so long ago but Bob sent a postcard the other day of the famous 'Lady on a white horse' which helps to keep the memory alive. Once again, it was great to catch up with you all and see your parts of the world.

The Australian contingent of the family is struggling at present with the winter weather. Apparently it was -1C in Naracoorte the other morning. And I'm sure Tassie as been just as cold (or maybe colder!). The twins (Jasmine and Tamika) will soon be two! Now there's a milestone! So I'm sure Sean & Leanne are busy preparing for doubly big party next week. Our pressies are on the way girls!

Jan's Mum has been in hospital for some surgery last week and is recovering well. The only problem was that the operation, scheduled for last Monday, had to be hastily postponed part way through due to a burst water pipe in the operating theatre! The rescheduled op on Friday went off without a hitch thankfully. She'll be in Calvary for two or three weeks yet recovering.

Jan & I are going to be pretty busy in the next two weeks with a trip to Brunei for a teachers' conference (and hopefully the chance to catch up with a few old friends) and then it's down to Malacca the following week for our Malaysian National Conference sponsored by the Ministry of Education. Go, Go Go! Oh! Then it's Malaysian Independence day on the 31st. Merdeka!

Hope all who read this are well and look forward to your comments.
