Another month, another year and another posting.
I'm currently sitting in the back room at Jan's cousin's house in Naracoorte South Australia where Jan & I have come for a bit of R&R. Cousin Philip has gone back to work today and Jan & Pam have gone into Naracoorte to do a bit of shopping. I'm not sure that there's anything that we need, but it will give them some time together and maybe they'll bring me home something nice!
Our Christmas was really great with lots of lovely food and drink and a chance to catch up with the family here in Australia. Darius and Kristi came over from New York and we had some quality time together with them before they headed off on holiday to Tokyo, Paris and Barcelona before returing to NY for the start of what looks like being another busy year for them. Laura and Randall have bought a block of land and are now planning what kind of house they'd like to put on it! We have also caught up with Sean, Leanne and the twins who enjoyed their Christmas lunch with us, and it was great to watch the twins enjoying opening all their Christmas presents. Jan's Mum was also able to join us for lunch having only left hospital three days before!
We'll be heading back to the big city tomorrow and plan to see Miss Saigon at the Festival Theatre tomorrow evening. Then we'll be staying for a few days with Sean & Leanne and hopefully catching up with a few more friends before heading back to KL on the 12th.
We have signed our letters of offer to teach school principals in the UAE and should be heading over there mid January. We had an e-mail just a few days ago welcoming us to their team and saying that they will sort out flights etc as soon as all the festivities are over.
Talking of festivites, I'll leave you with a picture of some of the Christmas decorations in the city of Adelaide.
Hope that you enjoyed your Christmas and that 2008 is a good one for you all, wherever you may be.
