17 weeks to go!

Well week 3 finished and the classes have now settled down. Jan's been busy organising things for next Monday, which is Environment Day at the college, and as she's on the committee, she has plenty to do. Her Level 5 class have been tasked with demonstrating how to build a traditional shelter. Unfortunately they built it a little too well at the practice the other day and they're not sure that they want to take it apart and do it again on Monday! As for me, two other staff members and myself have formed the RKM Rubbish Band. We have a kind of tea chest bass made from old wooden monitor boxes, a bottle xylophone made from bottles I picked up from around the village and a drum made from a large plastic water bottle. We are singing two original songs with an environment theme (to the tune of My Old Man's a Dustman and Ten Green Bottles). I'm sure that there will be lots of pictures and maybe a video, so watch this space.

Pam left for Dubai Wednesday morning and, from what we've heard, is having a ball.
Last weekend we took her to the Hilton Beach Club for sunset drinks at the lighthouse. Unfortunately the sunset wasn't very spectacular but we enjoyed ourselves anyway. Tomorrow we're catching up with her in Dubai and splashing out on afternoon tea at the Burg Al Arab. THE place to be seen in Dubai. She then heads of to Bangkok for a few days before heading back to Oz. She will have been away just over two months so I'm sure she's looking forward to getting home. I bet the family is looking forward to seeing her too.

Well, I've got to go and practise my songs so I'll catch up with you all later. Ciao.
