And another two weeks closer to the holidays!

Sorry I haven't written anything for a couple of weeks but nothing much has been happening lately. Last weekend we had to work on Saturday as the college is a test centre for the UAE university entrance exam. In the morning we had high school students from all around RAK and then in the afternoon the candidates were mostly mature age students. From now until the end of the sememster in four weeks, college life is geared to studying for final exams. And our military guys are not exempt!

Yesterday we took our cat, Sheba, to the vet for a little operation to make sure she doesn't have any more kittens. She was supposed to have had it done several months ago but the vet had trouble getting her to sleep. It seems that she was intolerant to the anaesthetic he was using at the time. He now has a new drug and all went well yesterday. She is of course a little subdued today but is starting to eat now. Our other cat, Pushkin, isn't sure what happened to mum yesterday and apart from a quick lick when we brought her home last night, hasn't been anywhere near her this morning.

David, the guy who wrote last year's pantomome, Dick Whittington, has decided to do Alladin this year. I've put my name forward as a starter, but not sure what role I'll get yet. Any suggestions from the readers? It'll be on just before Christmas again so that will be something to look forward to after the holidays.

Speaking of which, it's not long to go now as I said earlier. Jan & I are planning a few days R&R in Singapore and Malaysia before heading to Australia. I believe I have to 'give my daughter away' or something! And then of course there are lots of friends and relatives who we haven't seen for a while that we need to catch up with. It's lucky that we get quite a long holiday working at the college.

Well, I'm sure I'll write again before the end of semester, so bye for now.
