Since I wrote last, we've had the Military Teachers Conference in Al Ain, which was a huge success. Got to meet the teachers from the other colleges whose names we know but have not met face-to-face. The various speakers talked about things that work for them and we had a chance to ask questions and discuss some of the common problems that we have. Well worthwhile.
This week we had another meeting, but this time with all the teachers and support staff from our two colleges in RAK, plus our compatriots in Fujairah. It was a very well organised day at the HCT Men's College in Fujairah with two really great guest speakers, one a career coach from Dubai, and the other a 'creativity expert' from Switzerland who had us all in stiches with his ideas on energising your brain. Here are some pictures from the day.

After the conference, Jan & I headed to Dubai for the 20/20 cricket match between Australia and Pakistan. The match was held at the brand new Dubai Cricket Stadium, which is an incredible place. Unfortunately it's in the middle of a huge construction site and it was a real nightmare getting in and out of the place. The atmosphere was great but the Aussies weren't on the night and were well and truly trounced by the Pakistanis, much to their delight. We got home this morning just after 1:30 AM and have been pretty quiet today. Except that Jan was doing some cooking earlier and was playing Shania Twain pretty loud (perhaps to help keep her awake). A few pictures of the cricket follow.

I saw that the cricket had been on in the UAE and wondered if you had made it along ... would have been great, even though the Aussies sucked!!
Hope you guys are good!

PS -- I see the marijuana dealer is still hiding out in the top left corner of your blog!?
