With all our travelling last week I forgot to mention that we've had Mike, Liz & Louisa here in the UAE for a visit.

It was lovely to see them, if only for a few days on their way to the UK for Trevor and Sally's wedding (Ron & Michael's cousin & his partner).

It was right at the beginning of our EID holiday so we spent a few days here in RAK and one day in Dubai. The weather is still warm at this time of year which posed a bit of a challenge for getting out and about but we managed a look around the shopping malls, a trip over to Fujairah on the east coast and into Oman for a drive before heading back past the Friday markets where they saw a variety of goods from carpets to plants, all for sale.

We visited Ski Dubai, the ski slope in a shopping centre and took them to see the Burj Al Arab for the obligatory Dubai photograph. We went for a trip on the new Metro line which opened only a week before they arrived and Louisa managed to buy a several souvenirs of her trip to take back to her friends.

I hope they're enjoying the rest of their trip...
