I've been getting a bit snap happy as I've bought a new Nikon DSLR camera with interchangeable lens. I've been taking photos for years but always with a point and shoot camera so I haven't needed to think too much so I'm on a steep learning curve as I work out shutter speeds, apertures, ISO and white balance.
I got up onto the roof the other day and took a series of photos of the view of the mountains from our place. (The view is on the heading of our blog and the College we work at is on the far right - you can see how close we are to work!!!!) They're normally only visible in the winter months and yet they're only a few kms away.
With my camera I took many photos of our cats. I won't bore you with too many so I'll choose just this one of Pushkin (Pushy) the younger of our two cats.

Great pic of Pushy Mum!! When I pinch the photo and look at the info it says that it is was shot at 300mm ... did you get a new lens already??? :)
The landscape looks great too -- is that something you've cut together, or do you have a good wide angle lens as well
Very impressed!!

No, that was one of the lenses I got with my camera a 70 -300mm. it's good because I don't need to get too close to the cats and frighten them away.....
With the panoramic view I took 10 photos and stitched them together in a HP program. It was done in secs but the finished size is 43mp so I have resized to make it usable !!!!!
