75% of the year down!

It's the last day of September today, which means there's only three months until 2008! Just where has this year gone? I don't know about you, but we've been pretty busy and just haven't noticed the time fly by.

Jan returned from her trip to Adelaide to be with her Mum after her major operation. Mum is recovering, albeit very slowly, and hopes to be back on solids next week. It's been a pretty slow and trying time for her after the operation and she still has a long way to go yet.

Four days after Jan returned, Ron headed down to Tasmania for his Mum's 80th birthday celebrations and the opportunity to spend a few days catching up with the family. Tried the new Jet Star no frills service which was fine. Unfortunately though, on arrival in Sydney, the quarantine department had decided that they needed to check everybody's bags that day but were sadly lacking in staff numbers and suffering from some pretty poor organisation. Subsequently I spent a rather long time waiting in a very disorganised 'queue' and missed my connecting flight to Launceston. I had to rebook for later in the day and finally arrived in Tassie at 4:30PM. It was rather a shame as Mike had taken the day off work to pick me up and spend the day with me. Oh well! Them's the breaks.

Mum & Dad are keeping well and they had a nice surprise when I turned up at the restaurant for lunch (they had no idea I was there). We had a really nice lunch at Steve's place overlooking the Tamar. The Tasmanian scallops were great! We then popped round to Geoff & Sylvia's to wish Geoff Happy Birthday too. I had a good time with Mike, Liz and Louisa, staying at their 'new' house. The weather was fine although a little cool for me! It was all over far too soon and I was on my way back to KL.

As Jan and I hadn't had too much quality time together recently, Jan booked us a long weekend away in Port Dickson, at a really nice resort called Avillion. With nothing to worry about except what to have for breakfast, lunch and dinner, we enjoyed the time just being with one another. The world could do without us for a few days!

Of course Monday came around all to soon and it was back to the office and another week of wondering if the ministry would finally make up its mind about our contracts for next year. But of course, it's Ramadan at the moment, and not much is happening in the corridors of power. Another week went by therefore and we are still none the wiser. Oh well, maybe next week!???

Don't forget to check out the Photo Albums for some new piccies!
