An Update

Sorry that I've been a bit slack the last few weeks, but there's a lot going on in our lives at the moment.

Unfortunately, Jan's Mum has not recovered from her earlier operation and the doctors have given her only a few weeks to live. She has a fistula in her intestine which means that her body is absorbing very little nourishment. Another operation is out of the question as she is not well enough and the doctors say it only has a 50/50 chance of success. She has been moved to the Mary Potter Hospice for the terminally ill and will see out her days there.

After much soul searching, Jan has decided to go back to Adelaide for a while and be with her Mum. She left last night and is booked to return next weekend, but who knows what the week will bring.

On the work front, we have been informed by the ministry that our contracts are not to be renewed next year so Jan & I are now looking for positions elsewhere. Who knows, we may go back to Adelaide, Korea or we have even applied for a couple of positions in the UAE! There may be another holiday destination for people.

I will of course keep everybody updated as things change but I think that's it for now.
