Jan's Mum is going strong and getting better every day. In case you haven't heard, I think she got a bit tired of just lying around and so she decided to have the operation that the doctors said had a 50:50 chance of being successful. And what do you know, it has been!!! She is recovering, albeit slowly, and should be moving to an aged care hostel any day now.
A week later and Heather, Neil, Wendy & Ian arrived for a weeks visit. They stayed at the Royale Bintang at The Curve. This was Heather & Neil's first visit to KL so we showed them some of the sights and found lots of nice places to eat. I took them to the Batu Caves and everybody made it to the top of the stairs. We went early in the morning so it wasn't too hot. Had tosai and some lovely fresh fruit juice for morning tea once we'd got back to the bottom.
On the weekend we headed to Melaka for a couple of days and as there were too many of us for one car, and we didn't really want to take two cars, we hired a 'people mover' and driver. A bit decadent, but fun!
We got back to KL Sunday afternoon and the four of them headed off to Singapore early Monday morning on the train.
Jan & I are still not 100% sure what we're doing next year, but it looks as though we will be going to the UAE. We have both been offered positions with CERT, a part of Higher Colleges of Technology teaching principals, but are still waiting for the final offer with the terms and conditions to come through. This would be on the east coast in a city called Fujairah. Ron also has another interview with GEMS tomorrow for a Teaching & Learning Consultant position based in Dubai, working on Continuous Professional Development for their staff in the region. We'll keep you posted on the outcomes.
